We hope you will visit Deborah Boyd Gallery when you are looking for original art for your home or office.

You can purchase a fine art giclée print or a unique top, throw pillow or tote bag!
Or you can click here to purchase the original!

What’s Up at Own A Debbie?

If you haven’t already heard the news, we are working feverishly on our new website. While we’re not abandoning Own A Debbie, we will be moving our original fine art,  and hand painted jewelry and accessories to the new site. If it’s painted by me, you will find it there. This site will remain and here you will be able to order everything from reprints to home decor to wearable fashion, all using our exclusive designs.

In the meantime, to whet your appetite for what’s to come,  here are a few of the things you will see on the soon-to-come site.

“Cod-Frey”, 11×14 acrylic on canvas, framed
“Sal Mon”, 11×14 acrylic on canvas, framed

Cod Frey and Sal Mon are the first in a series of whimsical fish art.

“Everything’s Popping Up Poppies”, 24×36 acrylic on canvas, framed

Wouldn’t “Everything is Popping up Poppies” look great behind your sofa?

Our hand-painted jewelry will make you stand out from the rest. These were made with slate collected in France.

Our serving platters make excellent hostess gifts.

Are you excited yet? Look for these and much more in our new, online gallery.  Stay tuned!

What’s new at Own A Debbie

Spring went by quickly and now we are into summer.  I’ve been busy testing new marketing ideas and unveiling new art projects for the past six months

So what have I been up to?

First, our biggest announcement. I am really excited about my new online blog coming soon. The Deborah Boyd Gallery will be used exclusively for selling my originals. That will encompass my award winning art, my Little Debbie originals and my handpainted eyeglasses, jewelry and serving platters. There will be no reprints offered from that site. Everything will be one of a kind.

Own A Debbie will still be here. It will be used exclusively for purchasing reprints, our clothing line and  everything from bedspreads to furniture made from my designs.

Look for announcements shortly.

I was in France recently and picked up some nice slate pieces for pendants and earrings. The first of these, “Lighthouse Delights” depicts the Ponce Inlet Florida lighthouse. The pendant and earrings are hand painted and the wires are made by hand. Three or four more designs will be available soon and will be sold on the new site.

I did two of my new serving plates and based on the finished result, I will be doing many more. These will also be available in our online gallery.

Stay tuned!

IT’S APRIL!

Think Mother’s Day when it comes to gift giving and there’s nothing that will make Mom happier than Owning A Debbie. We have lots of great gifts from original art to curtains to cutting boards.

You won’t hear from me in the next couple of weeks. I will be busy creating new products.  When everything is done, I will hopefully post the first two of my  handpainted serving plates and my Spec-tacular Specs! which will now include sun readers as we prove again the we are breeders of readers!

Stay tuned!

How Did She Do That?

I have no professional training and while that has slowed me in some respects, it has afforded me the freedom to try some unorthodox methods when creating art.

Here’s how  these three paintings were born:

I decided to try a different approach for what I tentatively called my Abstract Flower series. To create these 3D images, each color was blown onto the canvas using a straw. Using acrylics, I blew on two colors at a time to create a variety of shades and contrasts; peaks and valleys. It was a tedious process at best.

I was really pleased with the outcome, but even so I felt that something was missing. I put them on the wall in front of my desk for three months. Every day I stared at them before I finally realized what they lacked – they needed background color to make them stand out.

So I added the color and viola! I now have something that is truly special and really makes the colors  pop.

These measure 8x8x2 and each side of the canvas has four grommets to add the the attractiveness of the piece.

Yes. The originals are available. Contact me if you would like to purchase They are ready to hang and need no framing.

If you would prefer a larger size, fine art giclees can be ordered from our online gallery.  Wouldn’t this look great behind the sofa in your living room?  Click on the picture below to connect to our online gallery and learn more about how you can Own A Debbie!

Beach Street’s Newest Gem

Beach Street in Daytona Beach is having a renaissance of sorts.  If you haven’t been there in a while, you might want to take a closer look.

The revolving door of businesses that opened and closed faster than you could visit has stalled and more stable restaurants and shops have attracted the attention.  Now the arts have arrived on Beach Street.

Riverside Fine Art Gallery is opening its doors Friday, March 30. It’s a small gallery brimming with some of the areas finest artists. I am honored and humbled to be among them.

It’s located at 172 North Beach Street. I invite you to stroll the street then stop by and immerse yourself in art. You won’t be disappointed.
