WHAT IS A GICLEE?
The best way to describe Giclee (pronounced GEE CLAY) is to compare it to its predecessor, the Lithograph. When artists sell limited editions or copies of their work, they are printed using the Giclee method. Unlike the lithograph, inks are made to last up to 200 years without fading (under normal conditions) and are printed on a variety of papers – from fine art rag to watercolor – to canvas, metal, acrylic and wood. DO YOU COPY PHOTOGRAPHS?
Like most artists, we use photos for inspiration. However when we custom paint your pet or loved one, we use your original photos to better capture the essence of the subject. We will digitally paint and provide a high quality, 8×10, signed giclee in an 11×14 mat of your pet or loved one for just $50. Please note that we cannot use copyrighted, studio photos without express written permission from the photographer.
I LOVE YOUR ORIGINALS, BUT THE SIZE OR COLOR WON’T SUIT MY DECOR
I hear this a lot from my clients and there is an affordable solution. Let’s say my original is 20×24 and you need a 16×20 or the colors need to better match your own preferences. We can create a custom painting for you! While it won’t be an original which would cost you hundreds of dollars, it will be tailor made for you AND enhanced by the artist. That means your final painting with be much like what used to be known as a serigraph. We will paint in details that will be the next best thing to owning the original at a fraction of the cost. At that, you will still own a valuable one of a kind work of art created especially for you!
